The CFLs or compact fluorescent lights are being used in every house; people have been using this kind of lights for years but now led lighting has started taking over. Earlier led lighting was being used by car manufacturers; they were being used as road lights and traffic lights and decoration light; now people are even utilizing them in their homes. The change in the trend has been due to various advantages provided by these lights.
When led illumination was developed; people did not seem to prefer them this was due to the fact that they were very dim and did not provide with the right amount of brightness. The manufacturers and researchers have worked very hard and they have made these light brighter than ever. Previously these lights were only available in red color but now they are available in a large variety of colors. Due to advancements in technology and research; a 4 watt led light provides as much brightness as a 20 watt incandescent bulb.
One of the main and the most major advantage of this kind of lighting is that it is very long lasting because it does not consists of a filament which burns out over a very short period of time. led lights and bulbs now come in various colored plastic materials and can easily be fitted into modern electrical circuits. The plastic covers provide different colors which can be used for various reasons. For example different colored bulbs can be used to brighten up the Christmas tree on Christmas and a red bulb can be used to show a warning sign. The main advantage this light provides is that it is efficient. The normal light bulb contains a filament which takes up a lot of energy to burn and until and unless the filament does not burns the light is not produced. In case of led more energy is consumed to provide illumination and less energy is consumed to heat. led illuminations are more compact than CFL.
